FAQs
Questions, answered.
Everything dog parents ask us about TrueWag probiotic soft chews.
How many chews should I give my dog each day?
Dosage is based on your dog's weight. Dogs up to 11 kg get one chew a day (6 billion CFU). Dogs from 12 to 34 kg get two chews, and dogs over 34 kg get three chews daily. As always, follow your vet's guidance if they've given you a specific recommendation.
What does "heat-stable" mean, and why does it matter?
Many probiotic products use fragile strains that die during manufacturing — or sitting in a warm courier bag or a shop in Indian summer. By the time your dog eats them, a large portion of the stated CFU may no longer be alive. TrueWag uses spore-forming strains processed through cold extrusion, which means roughly 83% of the cultures survive and actually reach your dog's gut where they can do their job.
Is TrueWag safe? Are there any side effects?
TrueWag is vet-formulated using well-researched, well-tolerated ingredients. As with any change to a dog's diet or supplement routine, some dogs may experience mild, temporary changes in digestion — like slightly softer stools — as their gut microbiome adjusts. This typically settles within a few days. If you have any concerns, or if your dog has an existing health condition, check with your vet before starting.
What flavour is it, and will my dog actually eat it?
TrueWag chews are made with natural chicken flavour. Most dogs take them readily as a standalone treat — no grinding up, no hiding in food, no persuasion required. Of course, every dog is different, but palatability was a key part of the formulation.
Can puppies and senior dogs have TrueWag?
TrueWag is suitable for adult dogs of all breeds and life stages, including seniors. Dogs up to 11 kg take one chew a day. If you have a very young puppy, we recommend checking with your vet first, as their nutritional needs differ from those of adult dogs.
How long before I notice a difference?
Gut support works gradually, not overnight. TrueWag is a daily supplement — not a medicine — and consistent daily use is what allows the strains to establish and support a balanced microbiome over time. Many dog parents track things like stool consistency, coat condition, and general comfort over the first few weeks. Give it at least two to four weeks of daily use before drawing conclusions.
How is TrueWag different from giving my dog curd or dahi?
Curd is a fine food, but it isn't a substitute for a targeted probiotic supplement. The bacterial strains in curd are inconsistent batch to batch, aren't heat-stable, and aren't measured in any useful way. TrueWag delivers a defined 6 billion CFU across five strains specifically selected for their relevance to canine digestive health — in a precise, repeatable dose your dog gets every day.
How should I store TrueWag?
Keep the tub in a cool, dry place with the lid firmly closed after each use. No refrigeration is needed, which is one benefit of the heat-stable formulation. Stored correctly, TrueWag has a shelf life of 24 months from the date of manufacture.
What is NOT in TrueWag?
TrueWag contains no artificial colours, artificial flavours, or artificial preservatives. It also contains no onion, garlic, or any other ingredient known to be harmful to dogs. The formulation was designed around what dogs actually need — nothing more, nothing less.
Where is TrueWag made?
TrueWag is proudly made in India, manufactured in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The formula was developed specifically for Indian conditions — accounting for heat, humidity, and the kinds of gut challenges dogs here commonly face.
How many chews come in a tub?
Each tub contains 30 soft chews with a net weight of 105g. For a dog on one chew per day, that's a full month's supply.
Is TrueWag vet-formulated?
Yes. The formula was developed with veterinary input and grounded in published research on canine gut health. That means every strain and every ingredient was chosen with a specific, evidence-backed reason — not just because it's trendy or cheap to source.
